Afraid of jobs going out to India, Obama plans to setup a manufacturing innovation institute
Weird or Sad, but true, the Obama administration plans to setup an institute for manufacturing innovations that will let American students train themselves to work in manufacturing field which is currently dominated by Indians and Chinese.
The proceeding has been initiated by NAMII (National additive manufacturing innovation institute) , based in Ohio state and a public-private initiative. It has already received about 70 million dollars as funds. What not? Obama plans to setup more 15 institutes like this in US by investing billion dollars. He believes that these institutes would become the world class manufacturing institutes which can get Americans more manufacturing jobs and let the companies invest in US more. He also believe that this would lead to an economy that always lasts.
Americans top federal agencies like Energy department. Commerce, NSF, NASA and Department of Defense supported the initiative by investing $45 million
This can be a success or failure but the manufacturing companies tend to believe in talent which lies mostly in Indians and Chinese rather than the infrastructure.
